Our History
The Company originally founded by Mr.Yakub Salehbhai
Contractor, entered into the arena, as early as 1956, as a petty supplier of
construction material. By the end of 1960, he diversified the business and entered
into construction of roads and buildings. And finally in the year 1974 a firm under
the name LONAVLA CONSTRUCTION CO. was established.
Mr.Al-Azhar Yakub Contractor, elder son of Mr.Yakub
Salehbhai Contractor and presently Managing Partner of the Firm joined the
Company in the year 1980. Since then the Company has been into road resurfacing
and asphalting business and have established themselves as one of the leading
Contractors in road construction, in Maharashtra. The Company is registered Contractor with State as
well as Central P.W.D Departments. As part of further diversification, LCC entered into
the RMC supply business and set up the first unit in Bhendi Bazaar Mumbai.
Future plans include exponential growth of the RMC division and to have at least
5 units by 2024. Key clients include - Saifee Burhani Upliftment
Trust,
Public works department, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Arena Orchards
(Kalpataru), Karjat Municipal Corporation, MMRDA, Afcons India, Sahara India
Commercial Corporation Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd and many more. The Company currently has the most modern equipment
and machinery, expertise technical know-how experienced staff to handle the
projects. Some key ongoing projects include :
1. RMC supply to Bhendi bazaar redevelopment project -> Supply of various grades
of
concrete upto M80.
2. Kalpataru Aria (Karjat) -> Internal infrastructure and pavement construction
for
the plotted development project.
3. PWD department -> Projects worth 30Cr across Maval taluka for execution of
various pavement construction projects.
4. Afcons expressway missing link -> Resurfacing of various bridges with
flexible pavement.
About Partners of The Firm
Mr.Al-Azhar
Contractor
Mr.Al-Azhar Contractor the managing Partner and General Power of Attorney Holder joined the Company in the year 1980.
He is a Science Graduate and has been experienced in this field of road construction since last 40 years. He mainly concentrated on modernization and utilization of advanced machinery for road construction. He took up many Important projects including construction of Somwadi Dam for Tata Electric Company.
Mr.Soeb
Contractor
Mr. Soeb Contractor, son of Mr.Al-Azhar Contractor, young, energetic & talented is the youngest Partner of the Firm. He has successfully completed B.E. (Civil) and MBA in Strategy from USA.
After a decade in the corporate world- working with Multinationals like Colgate Palmolive Ltd. and Disney he is looking forward to apply his skills and knowledge to the family business and take it to greater heights. He is currently overseeing the operations, and execution of all the projects of the company.
Mr.Habib
Contractor
Mr.Habib Contractor, is the third Partner of the Firm has been into family business since last 25 years. He has gained tremendous experience from his efforts and now looks after the entire Plant Management and maintenance of vehicles, machinery and other construction equipment's.
